The Tri Co Draft Sale did well at Midway Auction Barn on December 12th, 2025 did well. This is their first run at a colt sale.
There was a total of 105 head consigned with an actual 92 selling.
As you know, I am a numbers person and use them to tell the story how a sale, etc did.
This sale came on fairly strong for a new sale (new for this time of year). Their averages were right with others sales we have kept track of. I personally was not there to see the stock but had people with whom have helped me in the past. The stock was real close to what we see at regular sales we record. Some of the averages are a little high, but we have to take into consideration these are averaged over a low number of head which makes it a little hard to compare. However, we are going to record the averages and use this sale as a beginning point for the January sales.
They had a variety of stock consigned weanlings (mule and horse), breeding stock, Crossbreds horses, jacks, etc. Following is some top sellers:
• 4 year old draft horse mare $12,000
• 2 yr old horse mule $7750
• Weanling & yearling mules $5800
• 2 yr old Breeding Jack $8000
• 4 yr old gelding draft horse crossbred $4700
• Draft horse yearlings & weanlings $2200
In selling 36 yearling mule colts - avg $3187
In selling 28 draft horse and cross yearlings and weanlings - avg $1005
In selling 12 draft horses and crosses - avg $3525
In selling 8 draft mules - avg $6500
In selling 2 breeding jacks - avg $5375
Overall Avg for the full sale was $4271
