Reese Mules has a talent of focusing on an elite group of stock throughout the year and then presenting them for sale in top condition.
The 2026 Sale was no different. Reese Mules always has a group of top teams ranging in age from three to around six. These teams will go to repeat customers who need extremely broke teams of good quality.
Reese mules did in fact have several of these teams at their sale last week. The teams ranged in price from $20k to $25k.
Potentially the largest attention went to the Chris Miller colts. The pen was encircled with on-lookers while many would find themselves in the pen with these colts. It was like watching kids in a pen of puppies rather than adults with a group of draft colts.
It did not matter how many people were in the pen with them, the colts made sure to visit with each person waiting for a pat on the head or some type of touch from the visitors. The colts are large for their age and this just adds to their splendor. Chris Miller's breeding program is strong and built around his jack Rusty. The Miller family averaged over $7k a head on their colt crop this year.
This sale was no different than others in regards to the two year olds. Several showed up at this sale and held a strong average of over $7900 a head.
Rufus Reese has a talent instilled in him from birth. This talent seldom leads him wrong when it comes to purchasing rough stock and turning them into a diamond by sale time. Some asked if he can see into the future when it comes to mules. He will be the first to admit, there is a little knowledge and a lot of luck that goes with the mule business.
The last weekend of April 2026, Reese Mules will be hosting a riding sale that is growing to be one of the most popular sales for riding stock.
