"Well, We Did It"

"Well we did it", a quote taken from a mule colt breeder, is a splendid way to start this article.  This statement was taken out of a conversation held between myself and the breeder after the Hoover Colt Sale.

We did it, refers to flooding the market with mule colts, thus causing a fall in colts prices recently.

There will be a more detailed pricing report under "Sweetfeed" for online subscribers.

Before checking out those numbers, lets take a peak at what had a grave impact on the sale.

I think the most important factor in the success of the Hoover Colt Sale was the fact revolving around the wide variety of buyers.

Many times, in the past, the bulk of mule colts would be purchased by 'traders'.  In the Hoover Colt Sale, October 2026, the buyers pool was made up of many, many farmers and individuals.  Hoover's did an excelent job of getting buyers from several states.  This made the difference in the success of this sale.

Every step was given full consideration that involved getting bidders to the sale.  Several helpers spent time with customers helping to mate teams, as well as on the phones answering calls prior to and during the sale.  Home visits were made proir to the sale featuring breeding programs and allowing a close up view of the colts.

Another step Jonathan Hoover put into play was educating consignors prior to sale of the current market.

With over four hundred colts to sell, a slow start from bidders, and several uneasy patrons, the sale went off without a hitch, producing only 10 no sales.

Hoover Mules and the Hoover Family extend a sincere thank you for each in attendance.
