With so many mule yearling colts on the market this sale season, it has brought the opportunity to more buyers to 'play the market'.

Many purchased colts needing a little extra TLC in October and have them back in 'sale ready' condition for the January Sales.  We seen this pay off for several at the Hoover Mule Sale in January. 

Beginning today, Saturday the 25th, we will see if it pans out for others through the Mel Hoover January Mule Sale and the Jonas King Mule Sale scheduled for this coming Wednesday.

A good friend Levi King, Jr, decided to give this game a whirl in October as well.  He has 11 extremely nice work mule colts entering the Mel Hoover sale.   In speaking with Levi, and others, they all have a plan if the colt market does not hold in January. 

With the two-year-old market easing back into play, holding the colts another year is not out of the question for any of them.  As a reminder, so far in the January markets, two-year-old mules are bringing within a $100 of three-year-old mules.  This is certainly a market worth keeping an eye on.
