This quick story is a small summary of the 3rd Annual Colt Sale held by the Hoover Family on the farm of Matthew Hoover's family in Trenton KY.  All details will be released in the upcoming October Dixie Longears.

 

Of course everyone is always interested in prices, so lets touch on that first.  Now keep in mind the majority of this stock is weanlings when taking into the consideration the prices mentioned below.

 

The highest colt sold was born in April of 2022.  The hammer slammed on her after a heated bidding round at $14,000.  There were close to a dozen colts landing in the $7000 and above range.  

 

Approximately fifteen colts sold in the $6,000 area as well as the $5000 range.  Near forty colts stayed in the $3,000 to $4,000 price block.  Less than a dozen head of mule colts were under $3000 or no-sales!

 

There were some small changes the Hoover Family decided to make this year that made a huge impact on the sale.  All of these will be shared in the upcoming release of Dixie Longears.  Included will be sharing the meeting of three very special mule men who met at this sale, but were so unaware of what they had in common.
